Mission of Purposeful Art

Wielding Whimsy pieces reflect love and experimentation, both of which give purpose to life. Indeed, my mission is to create art that can be used in everyday life. Crafted from fabrics, fiber and other materials that have a history and purpose from the past, each art piece is reimagined to bring renewal to the medium, the space they adorn, and the owners and people who experience them. It is my heart’s desire that each unique art piece enables others to wield their own whimsy!

The Journey

April is a talented artist with over 30 years’ experience in a wide range of art modalities, industries, and roles. After over 20 years as an entrepreneur in a family business that she and her husband recently sold, April has launched a new business with a unique functional art concept for interior design in homes and businesses. Wielding Whimsy offers custom-made, one-of-a-kind lamps that brighten rooms in more than one way!

With many years’ experience in graphics arts, photography, marketing design, communications for trade shows, advertising, and commissioned art creations, April knows what catches people’s attention, engages, and gives them aesthetic satisfaction.

She has chosen fiber and fabric as her medium and lamps as her functional product to bring light, fun, and an individualized statement to any room.

An artist at heart and entrepreneur by nature, April was inspired to develop her own creative concept to take to market. April wants to introduce her functional lamp art to the interior design industry. She has product ready to show and is open to custom designing lamps for specific client needs and preferences.

Meet December

An artist, graphics art designer, writer and actress, December is a creative entrepreneur with a passion for bringing happiness into others’ lives. An award-winning designer, she creates decoupage boxes to hold your precious keepsakes. Her purpose in each unique Treasure Box is to suspend in time the special moments and memories of your life and those you love. Inside the box cover she writes a custom message on which to reflect for added joy. Each box is intricately handmade as a one-of-a-kind art piece to capture the imagination of someone with a matchless treasure to protect.
